Every day while walking down the candy aisle, or the toy aisle, or the ice cream aisle I see fun and weird things. Some of these I want to mention but lots of them are just so brief that I can't be bothered making a stand alone blog post, so to alleviate that I thought I'd try a new blog monthly series called Aisle Walking. Essentially this will be a mish mash of things seen in the aisles. I'd love it to hear about it you have fun things you've seen. New stuff is always showing up and I'm always interested in strange variants on existing products. Now I'm still planning on posting some things on their own, but for the lots of little items this will be the round up.
So lets have a look and see what we can see for this past month or so :)
I found this out at a Staples of all places (that's an office supply store). I don't know why I am surprised to see this, I mean of course Planters should be competing with Reese I'm just surprised that I've never seen this before.
We all know that Red Velvet is the hippest of all cakes, and in cupcake form it cannot be beat. I'm impressed that this package comes with some frosting packets included.
This is just a small note that all of the formerly named "Dessert Delight" products seem to now be called simply Desserts. I noticed this a while ago with the Lemon Square flavor, but am surprised to see the entire line change it up. Could this be an only in Canada thing???
I've seen these Kit Kat flavors (only available in the 8 packs) out at the local Wal Mart for a while now, but they seem to be expanding their reach. I had assumed that they were just going to be limited editions around for a little while, but maybe they'll actually be staying.
So this exists. It shouldn't really be a surprise since Nestle also owns the Carnation brand, but for some reason seeing chocolate bars in other places always strikes me as interesting.
Lets talk cookies for a sec. Seriously these Chunks Ahoy look great! I am sold :D
Birthday Cake flavor Oreos are back. Seriously does it count as a Limited Edition if its been on shelves for like 4 years?!
Now this is new, and it looks amazing! Chocolate and Mint together in a triple stuff? yes please!
I've seen Rolo ice cream before, but did you know there was Rolo Peanut Butter ice cream? Sounds great.
So that's all I've got for you this month. I'll try to make this a regular feature. Its fun to just touch on all of the quick stuff that's going on in the candy aisle and beyond.
Walking The Candy Aisle is a blog about all the awesome chocolate and candy in your local candy aisle. Here you'll find chocolate bar and candy reviews, random musings, pictures, and a lot of fun. We don't take ourselves too seriously here, so join us on our walk down the candy aisle :)

Easter's Revenge
Well here we are once again. It was just over a year ago that I started Walking the Candy Aisle and I again find myself faced with an aisle full of Easter Eggs. Valentines hasn't even happened yet and already Easter is taking over!
There are definitely some things to be happy about with Easters return. Cream eggs for one! I love me some good ol' cream eggs, and I'm interested to see what's different now that I'm living in Canada rather than the States for the holiday.
Already I'm seeing a few differences even in the standard Cadbury fare.
Look at this selection and you'll see some interesting things.
Mini Creme Eggs! yes, those are not Mini Eggs, but actual creme eggs only shrunk down!!! I can't wait to get my hands on those!
Cadbury Caramilk Egg... does this mean I won't get my beloved Caramel Creme Egg?! How similar is this to that??? Very interesting.
These come in mini size as well.
And check this out, a variety pack of mini eggs, featuring straight up Cadbury Dairy Milk Eggs. Very interesting... Do you suppose its solid milk chocolate?
Nestle Canada also has an interesting selection with yet another redesigned Aero bar. This time its an egg. Not to be outdone they also have a Rolo egg. Yes thats right a ROLO egg!
What actually has me most intrigued though is this adorable little mint mutton chop.
Why aren't there more lambs at Easter? seems like a good fit for the holiday.
While Kinder has always come in eggs, here are some actual honest to goodness chocolate filled ones from the company. I have to say I haven't explored much of Kinder's line outside the toy filled egg, but I'm interested to take a dip soon.
I believe Kinder has had these malted (?) mini eggs for a few years now, but I just noticed the cute little bunny mascot for the first time.
And finally Lindt. Aside from the full sized Lindor eggs that I mentioned a few weeks ago, they've also got these cute little Lindor mini eggs... Doesn't it seem like everyone is on the egg bandwagon these days?
I'll have some Easter reviews coming up for you in the weeks ahead, and yes I will have at least one Valentine's review for those lovesick readers out there. Stay tuned all. The Holidays just keep on coming and so does the candy and chocolate! And for those of you who can't wait, check out all of last years Easter themed video reviews right here!

Another New Look
Aside from the recent changes to the Aero bar, I noticed another new look for a classic chocolate in the candy aisle today. Also from Nestle, here we have Rolo in bar form.
Is this something that Rolo fans have been clamoring for? I always thought the form factor was one of the huge selling points for Rolo. We'll have to see if this new version sticks around.

A Drinkable Chocolate Bar
We all know about Nesquick (or just Quick if you live in certain places), but did you know that there are a few more chocolatey drinks on the store shelves these days? As I was walking the supermarket the other day I spotted some chocolate bar drinks, produced by Nestlé.
These may be common place, there's a few other flavors of this around as well (strawberry, banana maybe?), but how about a more direct chocolate bar drink?
Now these are looking good. caramel and coffee seem like natural fits for drinks, and pairing them with Nestle chocolate is a good idea. The only thing that might make these drinks better is if they were designed to be heated up.
I also stumbled on these Hershey chocolate milk drinks. Seems like pretty serious stuff. Especially the Double Chocolate one. Definitely preferable to Muscle Milk and the like.
Then as I was leaving I saw even more drinkable chocolate bars!
I'd definitely like to try some of that Caramilk drink. Sounds yummy!
I'll keep my eyes peeled for more drinkable chocolate bars. Let me know if you've seen more on your travels down the aisle.

Rolo minis?
Wait a second... is someone trying to pull a fast one on me here. Wasn't Rolo already mini???
YUP, just to clarify. Rolo is not an especially large candy to begin with. What gives here? And I also hope the irony of a king size bag of minis is not lost on you....
